What Cookies Are Vegan

You’ll find that many people are put off from converting to a vegan diet because they believe it’s super restrictive. But news flash, vegans aren’t living off only dry and bland salads.

There are plenty of super delicious creations that can be made from a plant-based diet and that includes everybody’s favorite snack – the cookie.

What Cookies Are Vegan

In fact, many cookies are what we call ‘accidentally vegan.’

They may not have been made or produced specifically for vegans, but they don’t actually contain any of the offending ingredients and so are A-OK for a whole host of different people.

And you’d be surprised to know that many of these accidentally vegan cookies are the well-known and reputable ones that everyone enjoys.

So, if you’re vegan and are getting those cookie cravings, pour yourself a glass of dairy-free milk, and get ready to dunk away to your heart’s content with any of the following cookies.

Vegan Cookies

1. Oreos

Yep. The cookie that is marketed all around being dunked into a cold glass of milk, is funnily enough completely vegan. And don’t worry, they taste just as magical in alternative milk substitutes as they do the real deal!

You’ll be happy to know that it’s not just the originals on offer to you either. Golden Oreos, Double Stuffed Oreos, Mint Oreos, and Chromatica Oreos are all plant-based too! (For more information on oreos, read here)

2. Joe Joe’s

Considering these are pretty much the copy-and-paste Trader Joe’s version of Oreos, it may not come as a surprise to you that these are vegan too. Yay.

Trader Joe’s cookies come in a whole host of different festive and seasonal flavors. From pumpkin to peppermint, you’ll be able to crunch away at all of these delicious cookies.

The only exception to this is their Gluten-Free Joe Joe’s which contain eggs.

3. Nutter Butters

A life without Nutter Butters is no life for me, but luckily they are completely and totally vegan. These nutty creme-centered cookies are one of life’s greatest creations and while they’re fantastic on their own, just wait till you introduce them to your baking.

Nutter butter recipes are just a giant bowl of happiness! Try Nutter Butter milkshakes or Nutter Butter blondies – trust me, it’s life-changing.

4. Girl Scout Cookies

What do you do when the world gets you down? You disappear under the duvet and devour a box…or three…of Girl Scout Cookies.

Hey, I didn’t make the rules, I just follow them. And vegans rejoice, for there are quite a few accidentally vegan versions of our favorite cookies.

Vegan flavors include the very newest cookie to the market; Raspberry Rally. Along with Caramel Chocolate Chip, Toast-Yay, Peanut Butter Patties, Thin Mints, and Lemonades!

5. Partake

When companies usually try to make allergy-free cookies they still tend to include dairy products such as eggs or milk. Partake cookies, however, have absolutely everybody in mind.

These gluten-free, nut-free, GMO-free and vegan-friendly cookies are also so delicious.

There are plenty of flavors to choose from – 8 different ones to be exact. Some are nice and crunchy while others are soft-baked.

So whether you’re in the mood for some cookie butter bookies, a birthday cake cookie, or a triple or classic chocolate chip, they’ll have something for you.

6. Lenny & Larry’s

Lenny and Larry’s cookies are popular for packing a proper protein punch. There is a whopping 16g of protein in each and every cookie. And there is 0g of any animal product making them a perfect option for vegans.

They’re easily accessible since they’re a staple of most supermarkets so you can calm your cookie craving at any time of day or night and they also have lots of delicious flavors to choose from.

From birthday cake cookies to lemon poppyseed, they have it all.

7. Trader Joe’s Maple Leaf Cookies

Surely, I don’t have to tell you how delicious maple syrup-infused cookies are going to be? That sweet sugary creme center is absolutely heavenly. And it’s suitable for vegans!

So whether you’re a tea dunker, a maple syrup drizzler, or an alternative milk guzzler with your cookies, rest assured that these fall-inspired cookies are the perfect accompaniment.

8. Nabisco Original Graham Crackers

Graham Crackers are great on their own and a baking staple, so vegans rejoice as this versatile cookie is free of all animal products.

Rest assured, you can still make vegan versions of s’mores, everyone’s favorite campfire treat, and crumbly cheesecake crusts.

The world is your oyster, and with these Graham Crackers as your base, the possibilities are endless.

9. Trader Joe’s Soft Baked Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles are one of those cookies that can cheer you up even on the darkest of days, so it’s probably a good job that they are vegan too! Now, everyone can have an uplifted snickerdoodle spirit.

Chewy and soft with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar coated over the top, these seriously moreish cookies are the definition of delicious.

What’s more, they are also free of the top 8 food allergens making them a great choice for those with food intolerances.

10. Biscoff Cookies

Who doesn’t love a bit of Biscoff? That signature stupendous flavor is not something you want to miss out on.

So, if you’ve never tried them out of fear they are not vegan, it’s time to grab your keys and head straight to the store.

You have to try adding Biscoff cookies to your baking recipes. They are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Final Thoughts

Can you believe that this is literally only scratching the surface of the many vegan cookie options out there? Who said veganism is restrictive?

It looks like most of the very best cookies out there are actually completely devoid of any animal products.

So, when that cookie craving calls, don’t ignore it. There are so many options out there. Regardless of whether you want that satisfying crunch or want to sink your teeth into something soft, there’s an option for you.
