When trying to lose weight, it’s really important to choose the snacks you’re eating carefully.

And with that being said, it’s also vital that you don’t completely restrict yourself from a few tasty treats here and there, or eventually, you will cave and end up ruining your diet in a much more significant way.
That’s why I always keep a few of these scrummy bars in my freezer. Personally, I’m a real ice cream fiend.
I would eat tub after tub if I could. So I always make sure that I’ve got a relatively low-calorie replacement ready for when those cravings kick in. That way, I’m less likely to run to the store for a calorific tub of chocolate ice cream.
Yasso bars are made from greek yogurt and have the tasty flavors and creamy texture of ice cream without all of the calories.
They are also super delicious, they don’t feel like a substitute at all – just a really yummy treat.
So are these bars actually healthy and will they aid weight loss? Keep reading on to find out.
Yasso Bars Are Good For Losing Weight (Yay!)
I can confirm the great news that yes, Yasso bars are a really great option for losing weight.
They are low calories pars packed full of protein, with all the great tastes you love from ice cream with none of the guilt.
Your typical Yasso bar is about 65g and contains around 100 calories – which we can all agree is pretty low.
Especially when you compare it to just one scoop of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream which checks out at around 220 calories.
(I didn’t dare look at what the whole tub, which I used to eat in one serving, comes to.)
So Yasso bars are a great option, where you’re more likely to eat a sensible portion where you’ll be saving upwards of 100 calories.
Because let’s face it, how often do you only have one scoop of Ben and Jerry’s?
In order to lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit where you are burning more calories than you are consuming so these low-cal bars are the perfect option to help you try and shred the pounds.
Are Yasso Bars Healthy?
So if they aid weight loss are these bars really healthy? Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they aren’t exactly the healthiest ice cream out there.
The milk used in them is not organic or grass-fed. They also contain processed oils, sugar, and natural flavors.
Nevertheless, they certainly are not the worst ice creams that you can purchase either.
They won’t help you lose weight in themselves or the ingredients they contain, but they will help in terms of healthy-choice swaps.
As in, if you’ve got major ice cream cravings and you have these instead of the more unhealthy options, it’s going to keep you on the right track.
